SUBSTANCE: apparatus has at least one helical and/or spiral pipe in which there is separation of a gas/solid substance suspension into a stream of solid substance and a gas stream through centrifugal forces. The apparatus also has at least one separation section linked to the end of the spiral pipe, to which the pipe carrying solid substance for removing the stream of solid substance and a gas pipe for removing the gas stream are led. The separation section is formed by the bottom part of the gas pipe, wherein the separation section in the inlet zone of the helical and/or spiral pipe and the part of the gas pipe adjacent at the top have the same diameter. The helical and/or spiral pipe for generating vortex flow is connected tangentially and at an angle (α) from the horizontal of at least 30° to the separation section.
