SUBSTANCE: video frame forming module 112 manipulates left eye image data and right eye image data in a state in accordance with the transmission mode, thereby obtaining stereiomage data for transmission. Based on left eye image data and right eye image data, in a given position within the image, a viewing vector detection module 114 detects the viewing vector which is information on mismatch of one of the left eye and right eye images from the other. A viewing vector coder 115 generates an elementary viewing vector flux. Using a multiplexer 122, bit stream data are generated and transmitted, in which the viewing vector flux is multiplexed in addition to the video stream, audio stream or graphic stream etc. On the receiving side, superposition information, in which mismatch adjustment was applied in accordance with the aspect of each object in the image, can be used as the same superposition information which must be superimposed on the left eye image and the right eye image.
EFFECT: maintaining conformity of aspects with each object in the image when displaying superposition information.
