SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an image processing method and apparatus where, according to the intention of the content manufacturer, an image can be displayed if stereoscopic image content is displayed in two-dimensional form. The apparatus comprises: a conversion means configured to convert N image data view points into primary image data which are image data used to display the two-dimensional image, and additional image data according to setting information, setting image data used to display the two-dimensional image from N image data view points; and a transmitting configured to transmit primary image data and said additional image data converted by said conversion means, and said setting information. Conversion is carried out by replacing image data of part of view points from said N view points with image data of another view point.
