SUBSTANCE: in a wireless communication system, short-term interference reduction can be utilised to suppress (e.g., prevent or reduce) interference on the given communication line in order to improve data transmission. Interference suppression reduces transmission power of transmissions causing interference so that a higher signal-to-noise ratio (SINR) can be achieved for the desirable data transmission. A node can trace high interference from a node causing interference which worsens transmission of data over that communication line. Using the communication channel with the node causing interference (e.g., a wireless data transmission/control channel, connection on a backbone network or an analogue broadcast signal), the transmitting node can successfully complete time-critical communication, while enabling the node causing interference to simultaneously communicate without reducing all resources and without burdening any control nodes.

EFFECT: broader functional capabilities of signal transmission owing to adjustment of signal transmission power.
