FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and may be used for riveting two metal parts together. Riveting tool may incorporates tool with punch and coupled tool. Said punch has lateral surface arranged concentric with rotational axis and end face surface. The latter is located parallel with rotational axis. Lateral tapered surface has bottom transition zone with first chamfer angle. Said zone is located in end face surface zone to change into top transition zone with second chamfer angle. First chamfer angle exceeds that of second chamfer, is smaller than or equal to 10 degrees, preferably, smaller than or equal to 5 degrees. Said punch may penetrate, at least partially, in metal parts in plastic deformation of top transition zone. Tool may be used in riveting metal parts with thickness over 8 mm by, at least, one ledge.
EFFECT: higher strength of riveted joint, expanded performances.
