FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: exhaust system of internal combustion engine includes the following: bulk substrate (10) coated with catalytic compound; at that, bulk substrate includes multiple channels which are essentially parallel; each channel passes longitudinally from front end to rear end of substrate; and the first probe located in the hole partially restricted with external wall of bulk substrate; besides, bulk substrate includes section (12) with multiple channels, in which catalytic compound at least in one part of length of the channels passing from front end of substrate has increased activity to perform the reaction for which catalytic compound is intended, in comparison to activity of catalytic compound in the rest part (14) of bulk substrate; at that, probe contacts basically only the exhaust gas that has contacted the catalytic compound having the increased activity.
EFFECT: increase in signal-noise ratio by installing the probe in substrate of catalytic neutraliser, and optimisation of catalytic compound property around the probe.
