FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a system of neutralisation of spent gases. The system of neutralisation of spent gases for internal combustion engines comprises as the first component (1) a filter with a flow wall, and as the second component (2) - a flow monolith located downstream the specified filter along the flow of spent gases. The first (1) and second (2) components have at least one function of accumulation in respect to one and the same compound contained in spent gases and selected from the group that includes SOx, NOx, NH3, O2, HC, H2S. Accumulating capability of the second component (2) is calculated so that for a completion criterion taken into account for the above compound there is a matching signal of this compound breakthrough, characterised by maximum steepness of the compound concentration curve downstream the second component (2), using minimum possible quantity of accumulating material. Also application of such system is described for reduction of toxicity of spent gases.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of treatment of spent gases.
