FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: method for improvement of service life of rolling bearing assembly containing shaft neck, housing (1) and rolling bearing consists in the fact that when direction of the load acting on the assembly changes due to reversing of shaft rotation, at least two local zones (3, 4) of variable stiffness are manufactured in advance by removing the material from ring (5) installed between external race (2) of bearing and housing (1), or those zones (3, 4) are provided on internal surface of housing (1) or on external race (2) of bearing. Planes of minimum stiffness of local zones are located at an angle to each other, which is equal to rotation angle of bearing load vector (F).
EFFECT: increased service life of bearing assembly due to optimum load distribution.
