SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the prediction of developing ischemic heart disease (IHD) in individuals of 60 years old and more. That is ensured by measuring the blood serum selenium (SE) content and the atherogenicity index (AI). It is followed by calculating the SE/AI relation, and the values below 35 enables predicting developing IHD.

EFFECT: method provides high-probability prediction of developing IHD in the case patients.
