SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food industry. The device for production of a smoking medium contains a body with nipples for air delivery and fume discharge, a wood log pressed to the friction unit with a constant force (the unit installed in the middle part of the body and connected to an electric drive), an ash collector designed in the form of a bath with nipples for water delivery and ash discharge and installed in the lower part of the body; the device specificity is as follows: the friction unit is designed in the form of a composite cylinder in the upper part whereof a ribbed friction plate is positioned, that plate connected to the heating element attached to the driving disk; the friction unit rotation axis is vertically positioned.
EFFECT: device efficiency improvement.
