FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hidden arc welding and may be used in welding sheet metal structures and tanks operated at negative temperatures. Proposed method comprises double-sided hidden arc welding of sheet butt seams at top deck after sheet drawing by drum at bottom deck. Welding at top deck is performed using mix of fluxes AH-348A and AH-47 at 1:1 ratio and rate of 20.5-44.0 m/h at definite parameters of current, voltage, wire feed rate and rate of energy input. Welding at bottom deck is performed using mix of fluxes AH-348A and AH-60 at (0.6-0.7): (0.3-0.4) ratio and at definite parameters of current, voltage, wire feed rate and rate of energy input.
EFFECT: higher mechanical tensile strength at negative temperatures, higher efficiency of welding at higher welding rates.
