FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and is intended for forced air cooling of starting-braking resistors packages (SBRPs) of electric locomotive with commutator traction electric motors (TEMs) operated by 3000 V high-voltage DC contact line. As ventilation electric motors (VEM) synchronous magnetoelectric motors (MEMs) with permanent magnetic field are used which are rated for sufficiently low voltage (no higher than 48 V). The suggested air cooling system of SBRP of electric locomotive powered by 3000 V high-voltage DC contact line and equipped with n groups of series-connected commutator traction electric motors (TEMs) contains n cooling ducts (CDs). In each CD, self-controlled synchronous motor with permanent magnetic field on rotor is introduced as VEM.

EFFECT: higher system reliability, lower energy consumption and electromagnetic noise and its influence on armature current of electric motors.
