FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and may be used at vehicles with electrical traction motors. Proposed device consists of armature, traction motor excitation winding, field attenuation resistor and contactor. Field attenuation control circuit additionally incorporates microprocessor control unit, current transducer connected in traction motor armature circuit, voltage transducer connected in power transformer auxiliary winding, one electronic switch (IGBT transistor) with collector (k) connected to field attenuation resistor connected parallel with excitation winding, with emitter (e) connected to negative bus of excitation winding and with control output of electronic switch (s) connected to microprocessor control unit receiving data from current and voltage transducers.
EFFECT: higher power factor of electric locomotive, decreased sine current distortion coefficient, reduced power consumption.
