FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to treatment of oil-bearing waters, in particular, industrial effluents, etc. Proposed device comprises catalytic chamber filled with catalyst, flotation chamber divided by horizontal diaphragm into cathode and anode chambers. Note here that said diaphragm is arranged between anode and cathode. It includes also branch pipe to feed cleaned water into anode chamber, branch pipes to discharge hydrogen gas and oxygen, anode made up of graphite plate arranged on anode chamber bottom. Besides, it comprises cathode composed of separate elements arranged parallel with anode. Used catalyst represents granular material with grain size of 2-5 mm of the following composition: iron - 38%, sulfur - 36%, liquid glass and sodium fluorosilicate making the rest. Said diaphragm is made from kapron fabric. Cathode is made of rectangular plates from carbon-bearing bulk. Said bulk accommodates electric contacts made up of copper screen connected to external current lead. Note here that said plate has through water passages. Note also that carbon-bearing bulk consists of 30-40 wt % of petroleum pitch, oil coke making the rest.
EFFECT: higher efficiency due to higher rate of bubbling.
