FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: composite material consists of fibrous material (1) containing separate fibres to which there applied is metal coating forming metal matrix in the form of metallisation layer (2) enveloping the fibres (1), and final metal layer (4) located above metallisation layer (2) obtained with electric-arc sputtering. Metal coating includes additional metal adhesive layer (3) containing copper and/or nickel located between metallisation layer (2) and final metal layer (4). Fibres (1) are glass, carbon and/or aramid fibres and consist of non-conducting material.

EFFECT: composite material is incombustible and unbreakable; it is characterised with high strength and obtained using easy and quick method, which has favourable effect on fibre material.
