FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: fibrous composite material contains matrix and reinforcing monocrystal fibres of aluminium oxide. Matrix out of niobium or niobium-based alloy is made by high energy grinding of niobium powder or mixture of input powders of alloy based on niobium. Monocrystalline fibres of aluminium oxide have diameter from 50 to 500 mcm, and content from 10 to 60 vol %.

EFFECT: composite material is characterized by high strength at room and increased temperatures, and maximum work temperature at least 1700 degrees.
