FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring angular displacement of the equisignal direction of the antenna at a given turning angle of the antenna with the dome and determining boresight error depending on the turning angle. To this end, the onboard radar station measures bearing angles of radar antenna reflectors mounted on the ground and determines reference bearing angles by recalculating known geodesic coordinates (latitude φ, longitude λ and altitude h) of radar reflectors and current geodesic coordinates of the aircraft, generated by its navigation system, and boresight error is determined by calculating the difference between reference bearing angles and bearing angle values measured by the onboard radar station.

EFFECT: easy and cheap compensation for boresight error of the antenna dome of a radar station mounted on aircraft.
