FIELD: radar devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radar devices and can be used for measurement of direction-finding errors of an antenna-radio-transparent fairing system of an on-board radar station. Method for measuring direction-finding errors of antenna-fairing systems consists in measuring angular displacement of spatial position of minimum formed by difference directional patterns (DP) of antenna at given angles of its rotation in azimuth and roll, and determination of direction-finding errors depending on said angles. At that, prior to installation of fairing on phased antenna array (PAA) located on roll angle Ψj with spatial angle of beam deflection θoi, performing the azimuth scanning of the antenna rotary mechanism in the angle (-θoi). Simultaneously, coordinates of minimum cross-section of differential azimuth direction pattern (DP) and minimum differential coordinate of elevation DP are measured. Compensating additives are calculated. Initial coordinates of phasing of the grid are changed by adding to them the calculated compensating additives for all angles of deviation of the beam from the normal and angles of its setting in roll as possible for given PAA. After rephasing it according to corrected data and repeated measurement of coordinates of minimums of horizontal cross-sections of both difference DPs in the range of angles (-θoi) installing fairing on PAA. Values of the actual minimum horizontal angle of the differential azimuthal DP and the actual minimum angle of the horizontal cross-section of the differential elevation DP are measured. Direction-finding errors introduced by the fairing are calculated.
EFFECT: providing fast non-mechanical method of bringing ARM-PAA system into points of accurate bearing to all directions.
