METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF RISK OF INFECTIOUS COMPLICATIONS IN NEWBORNS Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2465809 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely obstetrics and gynaecology, as well as neonatology and may be used for detecting risk groups of infectious complications in newborns. There is involved sonographic examination to determine signs of foetal intrauterine infection: structural changes of central nervous system, digestion organs, urogenital system, venous duct blood velocity at atrial contraction, reverse blood velocity of inferior vena cava at atrial contraction, maximum systolic intraplacental blood velocity, instant oscillation amplitude, accelerations, decelerations, basal heart rate, foetal tension index, foetal heart response on the change of mother's cardiac rhythm variability with respect to the norm. On the 30-36th week of pregnancy, the ultrasonic signs of amnionitis and placentitis are determined. The derived findings are used to state a risk of developing infectious complications in newborns.

EFFECT: method enables higher information value of ultrasonic examination for the purpose of diagnosing intrauterine infection of the fetoplacental complex in pregnant women with a high infectious index within a period of 30th to 36th week and reliably predicting a risk of developing infectious complications in newborns.
