FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: one day before the operation, patient's blood plasma is examined for activity of proteinase of narrow substrate specificity of kallikrein and content of its precursor prekallikrein. A prekallikrein/kallikrein ratio is calculated. If the derived value is 1.02 to 1.2, acute postoperative pancreatitis developing on the 1st-8th postoperative day is predicted; the value exceeding 1.2 enables predicting the pancreatitis-free postoperative clinical course.
EFFECT: method provides higher prediction accuracy of developing acute postoperative pancreatitis.
