METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF DEVELOPMENT OF ACUTE POSTOPERATIVE PANCREATITIS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01N33/48 A61B5/00

Abstract RU 2722672 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to surgery, and can be used for prediction of developing acute postoperative pancreatitis (APP). Patient is diagnosed pre-operative and early postoperative risk factors: type of surgical intervention, volume of performed lymph node dissection, presence of background chronic pancreatitis, ulcer penetration and tumour growth into pancreas, ulcerous anamnesis, duodenostasis and D-dimer values on 1st postoperative day. Detected risk factors are assessed in points. Obtained points are summed. If the total score is 3, a low risk of developing a APP is predicted. If the total score is 4–6, the average risk of the APP development. If the total score is more than 6, a high risk of developing APP is stated.

EFFECT: method enables achieving a pronounced preventive effect that enables early prevention and improved survival of the operated patients, as well as considerably improves the quality of life of the given category of patients by evaluating the complex of the most significant risk factors.
