HYDROACOUSTIC ANTENNA AND METHOD OF PROCESSING SIGNALS THEREIN Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC G01S7/32

Abstract RU 2466420 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: hydroacoustic antenna is mounted on-board a carrier which emits structural interference, consists of one or more pairs of linear extended antenna modules comprising hydroacoustic sensors, and arranged in pairs along the carrier, as well as a computing unit. The pair of linear extended antenna modules is arranged such that modules in a pair lie in a plane perpendicular to the housing of the carrier and lie equidistant from each other by a distance λ/2, which is half the minimum length of the hydroacoustic wave received by the antenna, wherein hydroacoustic sensors of each module are arranged in pairs opposite each other such that they are on a line perpendicular to the carrier, which provides sensitivity of each sensor pair to signals arriving from different directions in a plane perpendicular to the carrier. Also, output signals from each pair of hydroacoustic sensors are transmitted to the computing unit, where they are adaptively summed up, wherein a time delay is introduced into the line of the signal from the sensor lying closer to the carrier, where the value of said time delay is the time for propagation of the wave between hydroacoustic sensors in the corresponding pair for the direction of arrival of structural interference. As a result, a cardioid radiation characteristic is formed for the pair of sensors with the minimum in the direction of arrival of structural interference of the carrier, which leads to minimisation thereof.

EFFECT: reduced effect of structural interference of a carrier on signals of hydroacoustic sensors.
