FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to engine production, particularly, to injector testing equipment, and may be used diesel engine production works, service centers, etc. Proposed method consists in registration of fuel spray and determination of its shape. Fuel spray is registered at every stage of spraying, at least, once after its origination, development and destruction. Spray image is divided into pixels in every phase to determine drop size and shape. Note that in testing fuel injection pressure is adjusted while spray registration is performed at illumination from, at least, four directions. Proposed test bench comprises cylindrical fuel injection chamber with two covers, intake vessel, injector with coupling nut, driven high-pressure fuel pump, hydrostatic pressure transducer, measurement unit, processing and analysis unit, and control unit. Additionally, added are two illuminators, four registration devices, drive and power supply. Note here that said drive is coupled with injector coupling nut. Illuminators are rigidly secured in injection chamber top cover. First, second and third registration devices are arranged in injection chamber walls at vertices of equilateral triangle. Fourth registration unit is arranged at the center of intake vessel bottom cover. Said registration devices represent photo or video cameras.
EFFECT: higher validity and quality, reduced labor input, automated process.
