FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to machine-building industry and can be used in belt-drum brakes of drill winches. Multi-stage belt-drum brake includes brake pulley, friction elements of various shape, as well as mechanical and pneumatic actuators. Cylindrical friction elements are installed in through sector slots of pulley flanges with partitions along the pulley's perimetre. Cylindrical friction elements interact with each other and are made in the form of cylindrical rollers with external friction bushings rigidly attached to metallic bushings with slots. Axes are put on plate washers into annular slits with projections made in the flanges. Maximum deformation of plate washer shall be equal to allowable wear friction element material.
EFFECT: increasing the braking efficiency of the brake by using pairs of sliding and rolling friction simultaneously in friction assemblies with possibility of adjusting and controlling the brake torque during braking action, as well as improving the dynamics of braking process and wear and friction performance.
