FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the sphere of conversion equipment. In order to develop a device for conversion of electrical current or for generation of electric voltage with serially connected semiconductor modules (1), which comprise at least one controlled high-capacity semiconductor (3), a high-voltage control unit, which are under a potential of one of semiconductor modules (1), and a low-voltage control unit, being under a potential close to earth potential, which is connected by means of at least one light guide (17, 18) with a high-voltage control unit, which is reliable, requiring lower costs and being cost-effective, it is proposed that a high-voltage control unit comprises a high-voltage interface (7), which is under a potential of one of semiconductor modules (1), and via signal lines (10, 11, 12, 13, 14) it is connected with at least two controlled high-capacity semiconductors (3), besides, the high-voltage interface via at least one of the specified light guides (17, 18) is connected with the low-voltage control unit.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
