SUBSTANCE: method for searching in a database containing data related to multiple fingerprints. At the stage 301, two or more specific points are identified in an image of an unknown fingerprint. Multiple specific features are formed at the stage 302. Multiple specified features are based on two or more specific points. At the stage 303, a number containing many digits, for instance, binary digits, is assigned to each of many specific features. At the subsequent stage, stage 304, numerical representation of the specified fingerprint is formed on the basis of assigned numbers. Numerical representation is formed by alternating multiple digits so that digits of numerical representation are arranged in an alternating or "interweaving" manner in numerical representation. At the stage 305 numerical representation is used as a searching argument to search in a database. The invention also relates to a device and a computer-readable medium.
EFFECT: invention provides for higher speed of searching in a database containing data related to multiple fingerprints to find a match.
