FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, to production of spherical powders from metals and alloys intended for further processing by additive techniques or hot isostatic pressing into finished products. Centrifugal jet-plasma method for production of powders of metals and alloys includes melting of rotating cylindrical billet by plasma flow from plasmatron, wherein plasma flow in form of radial jets formed by approaching plasmatron to billet, accelerating to the rate at which their dynamic pressure force acting on the melt along the billet end is commensurate with the centrifugal force, and formation of particles of required size is provided by varying the ratio of these forces by changing the rotation speed of the workpiece and the geometry of the annular nozzle, respectively.
EFFECT: technical result of invention is reduction of required rotation speed of workpiece with preservation of result by operating fine particles of powder and elimination of separation in mass of obtained particles of powder.
