FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in additive technologies, as well as in production of articles by hot isostatic pressing. A cylindrical workpiece is melted and sprayed with a transferred plasma arc of at least two plasma torches connected into an electrical circuit, powered by direct current or alternating current sources of industrial or high frequency, including multiphase. The resulting melt film is moved by the centrifugal force at the end of the workpiece and breaks into individual droplets at the periphery thereof. The resulting droplets are cooled and solidified in flight in a protective gaseous atmosphere.
EFFECT: productivity of the process and yield of chemically pure spherical metal powders are increased.
