SUBSTANCE: display panel with built-in optical sensors has an active matrix substrate, having a pixel region wherein pixels are assembled into a matrix. Optical sensors are formed in at least part of the pixel region. The display panel with built-in optical sensors includes: optical sensors having mutually distinct sensitivity characteristics inside the pixel region; and, additionally, a signal processing circuit which performs processing in accordance with the corresponding output signals of the optical sensors, wherein the optical sensors include an image capturing sensor which captures the image of the object approaching the pixel region, and an ambient illumination sensor which determines ambient illumination, and the signal processing circuit processes the output signal of the image capturing sensors in accordance with the ambient illumination determined by the ambient illumination sensor.

EFFECT: controlling a display panel through high-precision internal optical sensors in accordance with ambient illumination.
