FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: display includes the following: a display panel having a plurality of pixel circuits and a plurality of optical sensors which are arranged in a two-dimensional manner, an actuation circuit which actuates the display panel and backlight which directs light onto the back surface of the display panel. The backlight control unit controls the backlight such that when a displayed image of an object is detected, the amount of light detected by the optical sensors is greater during the reading period, when signals are read from the optical sensors, than during the display period, when signals are recorded into the pixel circuits. The display can additionally have a unit for selecting the operating mode which selects either a shadow image mode, which detects the shadow image of an object, or a reflected image mode, which detects the reflected image of an object.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of detecting the contact position while reducing by backlight power consumption.
