FIELD: information technologies.

SUBSTANCE: communication device (UE) may receive assignment of permitted subframes for a mode of continuous packet communication (CPC) and assignment of intervals of signal unavailability in case of transfer for the collapsed mode. Intervals of signal unavailability in case of transfer may be matched with intervals of idle time between permitted subframes. UE may exchange data within permitted subframes, not covering intervals of signal unavailability during transfer, and may let through data exchange within permitted subframes covering intervals of signal unavailability during transfer. UE may perform measurements of cells within intervals of signal unavailability during transfer, besides, UE may receive permitted subframes and let through subframes, exchange data within permitted subframes, not corresponding to let through subframes, and let through data exchange within let through subframes. In another aspect UE may receive commands along a jointly used control channel in order to quickly activate and deactivate the collapsed mode.

EFFECT: invention provides for support of subscriber communication device functioning in the collapsed mode and mode of intermittent packet communication.
