FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: substance of the method consists in ligation of a thyroid bed, coating of the thyroid bed from the side of its resected and/or extracted lobe by a fascia of neck by mobilisation of a part of the fascia of neck followed by fixation thereof, and drainage of an operation wound. The fascia of neck is presented by a parietal leaf of the forth fascia of neck. Said part of the parietal leaf is mobilised within an internal surface of short neck muscles on the part of the parietal leaf intraoperatively lateralised towards the resected and/or extracted lobe of the thyroid. It is performed so that a length of the mobilised part matches with a distance of an upper edge of annular cartilage to a bottom of the thyroid bed from the side of its resected and/or extracted lobe, while its width - with a distance from a mobilisation line to a posterior border of sternothyroid muscle from the side of its resected and/or extracted lobe of the thyroid. The mobilised part of said parietal leaf is fixed longitudinally to a side surface of trachea from the side of its resected and/or extracted lobe of the thyroid. In those cases when subtotal thyroid resection or thyroidectomy are performed, the thyroid bed is coated by the parietal leaf of the forth fascia of neck from the right and left sides of the resected and/or extracted lobes of the thyroid That is ensured by mobilisation of the right and left parts of said parietal leaf within an internal surface of short neck muscles of the parts of said parietal leaf intraoperatively lateralised into the right and left sides respectively. It is performed so that a length of the right and left mobilised parts matches with the distance of the upper edge of annular cartilage to the bottom of the thyroid bed from the right and left sides respectively, while their width - with the distance from the mobilisation line to a posterior border of sternothyroid muscle from the right and left sides respectively. The mobilised right and left parts of said parietal leaf are fixed to the right and left side surfaces of trachea respectively.
EFFECT: use of the given invention enables eliminating potential formation of haematomas caused by haemorrhages in the thyroid bed, and avoiding causally meaningful fatal outcomes due to creation of a stable compression effect within the thyroid bed.
