FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing dialkyl esters of ethylene glycol of formula (ROCH2-CH2OR'), where R is tert-butyl, R' is alkyl(C2-C4), which can be used as catalyst modifiers for polymerisation of diene hydrocarbon. The method involves reacting ethylene glycol or monoalkyl ester of ethylene glycol and isobutene in the presence of a catalyst - acidic sulphocationite, at temperature of 30-80°C and pressure in a straight-flow reactor with molar ratio of ethylene glycol (monoalkyl ester of ethylene glycol) to isobutene equal to 1.0:(1.1-2.5) and volume rate of feeding material of 1.0-6.0 h-1. As a rule, the monoalkyl ester of ethylene glycol used is monoethyl ester monobutyl ester of ethylene glycol.
EFFECT: method enables to obtain desired products with high output using a simple technique.
