SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measurement of nuclear radiations, in particular, to measurement of efficient coefficient of radon and thoron diffusion in soil. The substance of the invention consists in the fact that on the surveyed section density of thoron flow is measured from soil surface, as well as the volume activity of thoron in soil air at the depth of at least 10 cm, soil porosity, and then the efficient coefficient of radon and thoron diffusion is determined on the basis of the following expression: where qTn - density of thoron flow from soil surface, Bk m-2 s-1; ATn - volume activity of thoron in soil air, Bk m-3 ; De - efficient (volume) coefficient of radon and thoron diffusion, m2 s-1; η - soil porosity, rel. unit; λtn - thoron decay constant, s-1.
EFFECT: higher validity of measurement and simplification of the measurement method.
