SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technique of producing pellets from zinc oxide charge mixture and an intermediate moulding step thereof. The invention can be used to produce pellets of zinc oxide which is poor in the 64Zn isotope, which are used as an additive in nuclear reactor water coolant. The method of moulding pellets from zinc oxide charge mixture is characterised by that the zinc oxide charge mixture is pressed in the pressure range of 254-490 MPa. Pressure between the top and bottom dies is reduced and pellets are pressed out of the die mould at the set load. The service life of the die mould is increased owing to no external mechanical or any other action on it.

EFFECT: obtaining whole pellets from zinc oxide charge mixture without mechanical defects and with given physical parameters.
