FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sump for treatment plants and may be used for removal of sand, stones and glass cullet from material settled by gravity from fed effluents. Proposed sump comprises deflectors with wavy or meander structure arranged vertically nearby and parallel with main stream direction in sump. Sump bottom grows up in direction of discharge zone. Sump flow area increases along the stream for compensation of decrease in flow area caused by bottom rise.
EFFECT: improved settling.
