METHOD OF SIZING POLYDISPERSE MATERIALS AND DEVICE TO THIS END Russian patent published in 2012 - IPC B03B5/32

Abstract RU 2470712 C1

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, particularly, to sizing of polydisperse materials. Proposed method comprises feeding polydisperse materials in fluid flow in sizing zone at volumetric flow rate, creating outlet flow in said zone to flow counter action of centrifugal field forces at speed approximating to that material presser size particles. Besides it comprises discharging first outlet flow counter action of centrifugal field forces from said zone and discharging material particles therefrom, their size exceeding preset pone, in direction of centrifugal field forces. Note here that fluid without material is fed at preset volumetric flow rate in sizing zone at section located behind the polydisperse material entry along centrifugal filed forces. Proposed method is implemented using the device including hollow rotor with axle made up of cylindrical vessel, means to feed polydisperse materials in fluid flow, sizing assembly arranged in said rotor to make chamber in said rotor along its rotational axis. It includes also, at least, one sizing channel perpendicular to rotor rotational axis that has first outlet open to said rotor chamber, and second outlet. Note here that second outlet flow area is smaller than that of first outlet to create hydraulic resistance to fluid flow at second outlet. It has first inlet for feed of polydisperse materials in fluid flow arranged between said outlets and communicated with means to feed polydisperse materials in fluid flow to rotor. Note here that sizing channel has second inlet to feed clean fluid therein arranged behind first inlet in direction from rotor rotational axis to communicate with means to feed polydisperse materials in fluid flow to rotor.

EFFECT: higher efficiency.
