Coating the polymeric substrate involves steps a) for producing a mixture of an anionic fluoropolyether and a counter-ionic agent and b) applying the mixture obtained at step (a) onto the substrate.

EFFECT: coatings on the polymeric substrate of articles have antibacterial and antifungal properties.
