FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: evaporative cooler (2) for cooling of gas flow, namely air flow, includes several cooling elements (12) located in flow passage (6), to which liquid, preferably water, which is subject to evaporation or conversion to steam, can be supplied by means of feed device (16). Cooling elements (12) consist of several cooling plates, the surface of which at least in one partial zone intended for formation of liquid film has hydrophilic property. At least one of cooling elements (12) includes the main part that has hydrophilic surface coating. Evaporator can be used in gas-turbine plant.
EFFECT: high cooling action of gas flow at low liquid flow rate.
