SUBSTANCE: protein band 4.9 is evaluated in peripheral erythrocyte membranes by disk electrophoresis. If observing the decrease to 8.23±0.5% as compared to the reference of 10.79±0.4%, reduced erythropoiesis is diagnosed. That way, in laboratory practice showing the decrease of protein band 4.9 in erythrocyte membranes, reduced erythrocyte maturation is to be expected by reticulocyte count which in this case is sharply decreased.
EFFECT: improved diagnostic accuracy.
