FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: liquid crystal display device has a first substrate with a plurality of pixels which are defined on it and are provided with a reflection layer, a second substrate facing the first substrate, and a display surface for displaying images through corresponding pixels. The display surface is curved in one direction. Each of the reflection layers is configured such that the reflection coefficient of light reflected from each reflection layer in a direction perpendicular to the display surface is higher at both ends of the display surface in the direction of curvature than in the central part of the surface in the direction of curvature on the display surface.

EFFECT: reduced change in brightness, improved image quality.
