FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: multi-view imaging device comprises an image forming apparatus and an optical beam deflection device comprising a substrate, a first layer of optically transparent solid material, having a first refraction index and an optical beam deflecting surface formed by multiple curved surfaces, and a second layer of birefringent liquid crystal material between substrate surface and optical beam deflecting surface, and having a second refraction index different from first refraction index. From substrate to first layer extends multiple elongated braces, having length and width, parallel to plane of substrate. Each brace forms point and/or linear contact with sections of at least two different curved surfaces.
EFFECT: possibility of switching of 2D and autostereoscopic display devices with improved performance characteristics due to reduced distinguishability of braces.
