FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ballast water treatment plants. Proposed plant comprises housing, inlet and outlet made in said housing for water passage, UV radiators arranged in said housing to radiate in housing reaction zone for creating free radicals therein, catalysts arranged in said reaction zones to increase quantity of free radicals, means to create turbulence and to mix. Said mixing means comprise several plates. Said plates have one of the means selected from the group composed of holes, openings, cutouts, shaped surface formed by moulded flutes, and grooves. It differs from know designs in that catalytic plates are arranged, in fact, parallel with flow in said housing while UV radiators are located, in fact, perpendicular to said flow to cause turbulence and mixing of fluid flowing through said UV radiators.
EFFECT: efficient treatment.
