FIELD: treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to air cleaning methods. Described is a method of cleaning air of harmful and foul smelling substances, involving preliminary mechanical cleaning of air from fine particles, exposure of the air being purified to UV radiation in the wavelength range of 100–200 nm and 200–280 nm, subsequent oxidation and adsorption of reaction products on the bed of the sorption-catalytic backfill, in which prior to mechanical cleaning, additionally cleaning air from the water aerosol, power specific flux of UV radiation in wavelength range 100–200 nm is not less than 100 W at 1000 m3/hr of purified air at the time of exposure to the air cleaned from 0.5 to 10 seconds, and the residence time of cleaning air layer on sorption catalytic filling from 0.25 to 10 seconds. Described is a method implementation device, an amalgam lamp and a backfill unit used in the apparatus.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of air cleaning.
