SUBSTANCE: two-stroke internal combustion engine includes case (14), crankshaft (8), cylinder block (6) connected to engine case (14), the first and the second cylinders (12), which are located in cylinder block (6) and have outlet openings (13). The first and the second pistons (17) are located in cylinders (12) and connected to crankshaft (8). Valve unit (10A) is connected to cylinder block (6) and includes at least one valve actuator (30), the first and the second valves (20A) connected to valve actuator (30). The first and the second valves (20A) are provided with possibility of being moved between the first position, in which valve covers the first distance in outlet opening (13) and the second position, in which valve covers the second distance in outlet opening. The second distance is shorter than the first distance. Valve connecting element (80) is connected to the first and the second valves and provided with possibility of being moved with them. Position transmitter has the first and the second parts. The first part of position transmitter is connected to cylinder block, and the second part of position transmitter is connected to valve connecting element (80). Electronic control unit is electrically connected to position transmitter. Version of engine design is described.
EFFECT: reduction of obstacles preventing the movement of valves due to coking.
