FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: disclosed is an apparatus for monitoring location of individuals in systems of tunnels, which is provided with a processing device, wherein in the system of tunnels in monitored facilities at permanent support points which are known to the processing device, there is a locally distributed configuration of wireless transceiving units, each provided with a wireless data transmission device. An individual is provided with mobile sensors; the transceiving units are provided with data transmission interfaces through which, on one hand, they are switched to a state of wireless connection with the mobile sensors and, on the other hand, are switched to a state of wired or wireless connection with the processing device, and the processing device stores programs which can be used to determine the location of individuals based on detection data from the transceiving units, wherein the system of tunnels is divided into areas which are classified with different degree of risk, and corresponding classification data are stored in the processing device and are associated or can be associated with specific data on location.

EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of determining location of individuals in systems of tunnels.
