SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the dairy industry. The proposed device for measurement of amount of milk given by the animal during milking 200 comprises a reservoir 201, a supply unit 202 to supply milk to the reservoir 201, made with the ability to connect to the milking set of the milking machine, the removing unit 211 to remove milk, made with the ability to connect to the milking pipeline of the milking machine, in which milking vacuum is created. At that the removing unit 211 comprises the means to change the size of the outlet opening 213 through which the milk flows from the reservoir 201 at release, and the possibility of setting of at least two different sizes of the outlet opening 215 is provided, which allows the flow of milk through the outlet opening 215. The device 200 also comprises a device for measuring the filling level of milk in the reservoir 219, the control unit 236 for controlling the means for changing the size of the outlet opening 213, depending on the filling level of milk in the reservoir 201, defined by the device for measuring the filling level 219, in order to set the size of the outlet opening 215, so that the filling level is within the specified range, and the evaluation unit 237 for calculating from the set size of the outlet opening 215 and the filling level measured by the device for measuring the filling level 219 of the milk flow into the reservoir 201. Also a method for measurement of amount of milk given by the animal during milking using the described device 200 is proposed.

EFFECT: invention provides increased ease of transportation, measurement accuracy of milk amount in case if far different flows of milk.
