METHOD OF HEATING THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS IN VESSEL, FOR EXAMPLE, BITUMEN, TO LIQUID STATE Russian patent published in 2013 - IPC C10C3/10 

FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method is implemented in container shaped to horizontally-elongated trough with flat side walls 1.1 and face walls. Trough bottom cross-section is shaped to isosceles trapezoid (a, b, c, d) with larger base (a-d) is connected in perimetre with said side walls 1.1 and face walls. Length of smaller base (b-c) equals length of sides (a-b), (c-d). IR radiation is directed to bottom, over its entire length, perpendicular to flat surfaces formed by bases (b-c) and trapezoid sides (a-b), (c-d). IR lamps are located under trough bottom in regular or irregular lines with uniform clearance relative to said bottom. Said lamps are connected to voltage-temperature controller to be connected to temperature transducer on thermoplastic material inside trough. Lamps are connected to controller output, electrically parallel in every phase. Three-phase controller is rigidly secured to trough outer wall, on the side of face wall, with clearance relative thereto.

EFFECT: automated heating, simplified method.
