FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: according to the method for continuous curing of uncured natural or synthetic rubber strip on calender roll, the strip is pressed against the outer surface of a thick-wall rotating calender roll around its circumference s. The roll is heated from inside by inner point-source radiators "ИКИ". The radiators are fixed inside the roll slightly away from the inner surface so, that they produce spot heating of the surface. Radiators are powered from the "voltage-temperature" control unit. The roll outer surface temperature is controlled by a temperature gauge connected to the control unit. The calender roll is rotated steadily at a constant velocity by a back-geared three phase induction motor. The radiators comprise lamps "ИК3-500" fixed on circularly arced parallel coaxial power buses inside the calender rolls. Each phase bus sector has a central angle of 90°. Three sets of paired buses are fitted with a clearance of 5-10 mm between the lamps, heated area under the cured strip has a central angle of over 270°. Three neutral buses are fitted in series along the circular dielectric axis and electrically interconnected. Temperature gauge is a pyrometer fixed above the roll outer surface opposite the middle bus, and during calender heating period it rotates faster, than during the thermostatic period.
EFFECT: improved curing process performance.
