FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of purifying a stream of water from a Fischer-Tropsch reaction involves: feeding a stream of water containing organic reaction byproducts into a distillation column or a stripping column; condensation of the vapour stream from the top part of the column, and removing the distillation product which is rich in the heaviest byproducts; feeding the partially purified stream of water from the bottom part of the distillation column into the top part of one or more contact heat exchangers; feeding natural gas in the reverse direction into the tail section of the heat exchanger at temperature below the temperature of the stream of water; feeding natural gas which is rich in water and part of the residual organic product from the top part of the heat exchanger into a Fischer-Tropsch apparatus for synthesis of hydrocarbons; feeding the purified cooled water from the heat exchanger directly for further treatment.
EFFECT: efficient separation of organic compounds from water and removal of heat from the same stream.
